Vail incorporation initiative on the ballot November 5, 2013

Thanks to the hard work of many volunteers in Vail, we were notified earlier this week by Pima County election officials that the Vail incorporation initiative will be placed on the ballot on November 5, 2013.  To incorporate a potential town or city in Arizona, ten percent of the registered voters living within the proposed town or city boundary must sign a petition supporting the referendum.  Vail needed 717 valid signatures to qualify.  According to the election officials, 1,027 were validated, or 43% more than was required.  MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO WALKED NEIGHBORHOODS, CO

Our effort to gather signatures is going very well, but after mapping our neighborhood coverage, we're missing some key neighborhoods.  If you live in, or are willing to help gather signatures in one of these neighborhoods, please let me know.  This is a very critical part in our effort to get Vail Incorporation on the ballot.

Walgreens petition signing will be in lieu of our regular March committee meeting

Because of the effort involved in collecting signatures at Walgreens on 3/23, 3/30, we will not have a regular committee meeting in March.

Our next Committee meeting will be Wed, April 17 at Old Vail Middle School from 5:30 - 9:00.  It will be an "open house" with brief presentations on the hour and we would like to have committee members available to mingle and answer questions from attendees and collect signatures.
